Prosperity….
To experience prosperity is to know that you always have enough. It truly
is a state of mind because whatever our level of income there are very
few individuals who don’t imagine what it would be like to have
a little more. It’s not unusual for someone to attain wealth but
to still be in a state of poverty consciousness. The acid test is whether
we trust in the process of life to fulfil our needs. To be prosperous
is to be able to share what one has without a second thought. It’s
ironic that the poorer someone is materially then often the more generous
they are in sharing the little they have. Our own experience is the more
we are able to live life in a spirit of spontaneous generosity the more
it flows. The word charity has many different connotations but for us
it’s about empowerment. It’s actually saying we are grateful
for what we have received and we would like to empower and enable others
to fulfil their lives.
…And Charitable Giving
Below is a summary of some of the good causes we have supported. Where
there are newsletters available, you can download these from us or take
a look at their websites to be inspired by the work they are doing.
If you’d like to be able to give to charity without a second thought
it’s remarkably freeing to have a charitable fund to draw from.
Here we treat charitable giving in much the same way as any other bill
and put money aside each month The principle of giving away 10% of one’s
income has been around for more than two thousand years and we've found
it a good place to start. Also, if you prefer your income tax to be used
for purposes of your own choosing rather than the whim of any particular
government, visit the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF)
to find out how easy it can be to make sure that all you donations are
increased by basic rate tax - currently for every £1 you donate,
23p is added. By opening an account with CAF you can make donations anytime
you wish with a special charity chequebook or by standing order. Very
liberating! Visit www.CAFonline.org, or telephone 01732 520055.

you have the worst kind of heart trouble.”

…And an HSC Charity Update
With running a business there isn’t much time for hands-on support
but the business allows us to support in other ways, like donating funds,
providing low cost homeopathy items, or simply spreading the word. There’s
something hugely rewarding in being able to support projects, in whatever
capacity, and then hear about their successes. This year we offered some
free material to Le La Laboratoire de Petites Experiences,
a fascinating Art/Medicine/Ecology project.
There’s great work happening in Africa where every
penny can provide so much help. Check out their websites and newsletters
– it makes inspiring reading!
We’ve been supporting, and enjoying the successes of, the Maun
Project. They are based in Botswana where they run busy clinics
treating patients with HIV and Aids - 2000 consultations in a year, treating
more than 600 people, wow – and a new outreach clinic recently opened.
They also care for dying people and train local people to become homeopaths.
To find out more visit www.homeopathybotswana.com
Then there’s the SHEAF trust who are supporting
homeopathy in Kenya. SHEAF train African homeopaths in homeopathy and
naturopathy, support the development of clinics in rural areas, improve
self help for the poor through a variety of different means, and also
support research into malarial prophylaxis. To find out more about SHEAF
visit www.sheaf.org.uk
And in Ghana there’s the Ghana Homeopathy Project
doing similar work whilst working with the Primary Healthcare Centres.
They run the Ghana centre for homeopathic and natural health, employ a
homeopath and clinic manager, support the volunteers, provide medicines,
staff training, books and equipment, and work with NGOs to introduce homeopathy
to their existing projects. To find out more visit www.amurt.org.uk
More recently we’ve offered support to a new charity The
Community Domestic Abuse Programme (CoDAP). CoDAP support those
suffering the effects of violence against women in any form. They run
the Wise Women Programme aimed at raising self respect and self realisation
of women and young people from backgrounds of domestic abuse. The initiative
takes place over a two year period in which women spend six residential
weekends rediscovering not only who they are, releasing old and negative
patterns, but also working to discover their true potential. They are
running a CoDAP 1000 mile challenge to raise funds, check out their website
